K5B
Meet Mrs. Kiddoo
I have been teaching at Our Lady Queen of Peace School for 9 years. I started the K4 program in 2010 and then moved up with my K4 friends to teach K5 the following year. I have been teaching K5 for 8 years now. When doing my practicum and student teaching, kindergarten was my favorite grade to teach! I have the best job ever, I love coming to school every day and teaching my student and seeing them love learning! I received my degree from Edgewood College in Early Childhood Education: Regular and Special Education. After graduating, I worked at Kindercare Learning Center as the lead teacher in the 4 year old classroom.
When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my husband Austin, our 15 month old son, Logan and our dog, Nemo. We enjoy going on family outings and walks together. I also enjoy playing tennis, exercising and scrapbooking.
I am looking forward to this upcoming school year and working with all of your children! We are going to have so much fun and will be busy learning!

Our Mission
Working together in a caring environment and Christ-like spirit, students, teachers, and parents will encourage the search for knowledge and an appreciation of each person’s capabilities and differences
Our Kindergarten Mission
At Our Lady Queen of Peace School, we have a strong sense of community where our dedicated faculty works together with you to invest in your child's faith and education. The Kindergarten program provides a nurturing environment that supports each child's development in a holistic manner. We offer a classroom setting where each child's academic, socio-emotional and spiritual development is encouraged through hands-on lessons, open-ended discovery, creative expression and direct instruction. In this setting, grounded in our Catholic faith, the students gain the skills necessary to become innovative problem solvers, socially confident learners and responsible followers of Christ.
Curriculum Overview:
Our Kindergarten programs have a developmentally-structured day to help young students succeed.
Engaging, hands-on lessons provide an appropriate level of challenge, and classroom learning center for small-group instruction and free choice cover all the academic areas and are updated frequently based on our thematic units throughout the year.
Children learn routines and classroom jobs early on, teaching responsibility and self-confidence.
Socio-emotional education and religious lessons are woven throughout the daily curriculum.
Children have outdoor recess, snack breaks, and a rest period to meet each young learner's physical needs so they can be successful throughout the day.
Students have access to the experiences and resources of the larger school community. We participate in school-wide assemblies, activities, service projects, Masses, and all-school prayer services.
Our curriculum is further enhanced with weekly participations in music, reading lab (incorporates library, technology and small group enrichment), physical education, computers, SMART boardand Spanish classes and monthly participation in guidance.
We explore the Madison community through field trips. We welcome guest speakers, which have included a fire safety talk from a firefighter, interactive Kindermusik lessons, dancing drummers from Haiti, healthy-eating workshops, and more.
We engage their curiosity, which instills a passion for life-long learning in our students.
